East meets West — meet our new PR + marketing summer interns: Audrey + Kat
Each summer, KNB adds a batch of new faces to learn about the healthcare industry and take a peek inside a healthcare and life sciences PR and marketing firm. This summer, KNB brought on Audrey and Kat.
We had them interview one another. Here’s a look at their conversation:
Hi, my name is Katherine Asante-Tagoe. I'm from Newark, New Jersey. I am a junior at Villanova University, studying political science and communication as a double major. I'm very excited to learn new skills here at KNB and gain a deeper understanding of the healthcare industry this summer.
Outside of school, I enjoy reading books - I'm a big fan of mystery novels. I also enjoy watching new shows, taking spontaneous trips with friends, and traveling with my family. A few of my favorite places I’ve traveled to have been Greece, Ghana, and Morocco, to name a few.
I've always been interested in PR and media. I've been involved in various strategic communication and PR efforts with different clubs at Villanova. I was excited to intern at KNB because biotech and the healthcare industry were areas I wasn’t very familiar with. The challenge intrigued and motivated me to learn more during this internship.
I hope to learn more about various areas of marketing, including public relations and content development, and understand how these skills can help clients strengthen their brand and achieve their goals. I am also looking forward to gaining advice and mentorship from my team and learn about different marketing strategies that can be applied to any PR industry.

It would be "Wait for it" (by Leslie Odom Jr. and the Original Broadway Cast of Hamilton). I’m a massive fan of the musical, and that particular song especially resonates with me. I even know all the lyrics by heart.
I would have to say Zendaya. I’ve always admired how she started out shy and timid at a young age, but gradually stepped out of her comfort zone through acting, music, and modeling. Watching her grow into such a confident, multi-talented woman showed me that overcoming your fears and embracing new challenges is possible.
— Summer Fridays lip balm
— A claw clip — I always have to have one on me
— My AirPods
— Black tote bag
— Jewelry, specifically a pair of gold earrings
I'd say 18 to 20 tabs, but this is only the first window–I'm not even going to say what the second window has.
I enjoy reading my Bible every morning. It's pretty much a habit I have. I feel calm and reassured, and it reminds me of my values whenever I read in the morning.
I am a homebody. I love being home, cozying up on my couch, and finding a good show to watch. I love going out, but I love staying in more.
Hi, my name is Audrey Adam. I was born and raised in San Diego, and I attend school across the country at Williams College, where I study psychology. I'm part of the school newspaper, where I serve as an executive editor for The Williams Record. Outside of the classroom, I love any kind of fiber crafts, so you'll see many of my friends wearing crocheted hats or scarves. I love to read, watch TV shows, and go for walks.
Coming from a somewhat sciencey background (even though psychology sort of toes the line between social science and science) and also growing up with a mother who went through cancer treatment, I've always cared about biotech and medtech. So, I was initially drawn to the healthcare industry for that reason. I also have a passion for marketing, and I love storytelling and the strategy involved in communication. When I saw this internship, it was like the perfect combination of the two.
I will go with "Heavy Metal Drummer" by Wilco because it's very upbeat and fun. When I listen to it, I feel like skipping instead of walking.
I’d have to go with Meredith Hayden or Wishbone Kitchen. She’s a private chef in the Hamptons and documents her days cooking on social media. Her job looks so fun!
— An Owala water bottle
— Neutrogena Ultra-Sheer sunscreen
— My brown leather tote, which I carry everywhere
— Target ankle socks because they're the best socks in the world
— A boat neck tank top
I usually have three windows open, but overall, I probably have 20 across the three windows as well.
Usually, walking 10,000 steps a day helps me stay motivated and focused. It helps me sleep and makes me feel like I've accomplished something.
I'm deaf in my right ear and have constant vertigo, which means I'm permanently dizzy. I was a competitive athlete for most of my life, so nobody ever guessed! Funny enough, I still wear two AirPods while walking around campus. Otherwise, someone might see an open ear, call for me, and think I’m ignoring them when I don't respond!

As you can see, Audrey and Kat bring unique perspectives, distinct talents, and a shared eagerness to learn about PR and marketing in healthcare and health tech. We are so excited to have them on board this summer, and we cannot wait to see the impact they make at KNB—and beyond!
