Some of our favorite, highly regarded, and sought-after awards are listed in order of submission deadline below to help you secure your competitive position, attract the eyes of potential investors, or fill a void during media lulls.

Awards, categories, and list inclusion opportunities are vast and as unique as our clients. We’ve noted our views on the level of difficulty, which takes into consideration the submission process and requirements, the total number of submissions, and award prestige.

1. MedTech Breakthrough

Info: The long-standing MedTech Breakthrough awards recognize industry-leading companies, platforms, and products in the healthcare, fitness, and medical technology industries. 2023 will be the award's 8th consecutive year highlighting healthcare topics that matter, from patient engagement to medical data and telehealth; award categories offer a wide variety of options for healthcare companies. Due Dates: Submissions are due February 10th, and winners are announced in late April.

Fees: No entry fee.

Previous winners: LexisNexis Risk Solutions – Best Health Information Exchange Solutions, Smile Direct Club – Best TeleHealth Platform, and Real – Best Overall Mental Health Solution

2. Inc. 5000 (Difficulty level 9/10)

Info: While representing nearly 40 years of American growth stories, the Inc. 5000 list is a distinguished digital award highlighting the fastest-growing private companies. Aside from being named alongside past companies like Microsoft and Facebook, the award provides companies with an effective public relations showcase.

Companies will be ranked according to percentage revenue growth over a fixed period. While all 5,000 companies will be featured on Inc.com (which has 1M+ monthly viewers), The September issue of Inc. Magazine (with 1M+ subscribers) will also highlight the top 500 companies. Learn more about 2022's requirements and revenue verification process.

Due Dates: Applications for the 2023 Inc. 5000 list will open in January.
Fees: $195 early rate (deadline in March) and $245 regular rate (deadline in April)
Previous winners: Livingood Daily – providing resources for people to get to the cause of health issues; Complete Health Partner – an urgent care provider offering physical and virtual visits; and Core Clinical Partners – a physician services company improving emergency and hospital medicine.

3. BioTech Breakthrough

Info: A new addition in 2021 to the well-known MedTech breakthrough awards, the Biotech Breakthrough awards highlight biotechnology solutions, services, and companies worldwide. Award categories include biopharma, therapeutics, diagnostics, immunology, data & analytics, and more. Companies can also submit the same product or solution in multiple categories when relevant.
Due Dates: Historically, submissions are due in early September, and announcements are in late September.

Fees: No entry fee.

Previous winners: Ioniq Sciences – Clinical Diagnostic Solution of the Year, Abbott – MedTech Solutions of the Year, and Dotmatics – BioInformatics Solutions of the Year.


4. UCSF Health Hub Digital Health Awards

Info: In 2022, UCSF Health Hub awards hyped up their prestigious reputation and partnered with HLTH to announce winners live at last year's conference. With two tracks and nearly a dozen categories each, these awards aim to acknowledge the up-and-coming healthcare rising stars and the best of the best in digital health. Submissions require a short demo video as well as a 2-minute video pitch from a senior executive. Learn more about UCSF's judging criteria.

*Bonus tip* if you're looking to build name recognition and thought leadership, consider applying to become to 2023 UCSF Digital health Awards judge (the deadline to apply will be late August).

Due Dates: Submissions are open from early May through late July, with quarterfinalists being announced in September and finalist announcements in November.

Fees: No entry fee; however, finalists are asked to make a $400 donation to the non-profit UCSF Health Hub, a 501c3 organization.

5. Fierce Healthcare: Fierce 15

Info: While the window to make Fierce 15's 2023 honoree list is closed, there is always time to mark your calendar and plan your submission for the 2024 list. 2024 will mark the sixth year that Fierce will highlight private healthcare companies looking to shift the healthcare landscape.

Due Dates: Submissions for the 2024 list will open in November 2023.

Fees: No entry fee. Submissions require funding and financial details.

Previous winners: Maven Clinic – reportedly the first female-focused health startup to surpass a $1 billion valuation, CareCentrix – recently acquired by Walgreens; and Transcarent – which completed its series C funding last year.
