The Account Director is the principal contact between KNB and the client and has ultimate responsibility for the client account. The AD works across multiple lines of an account, developing and executing on communications, marketing and PR strategies and tactics that help our clients to grow their businesses and gain market share. The AD leads the account team from strategy development to solution delivery. The AD ensures that the solutions provided are aligned and prioritized to meet client expectations. The AD also supervises overall performance for account team members.
An Account Director has successful communications and marketing experience, including public relations, writing, social media and digital communications, branding and content development. Previous experience working in a public relations, corporate communications, marketing department or an agency is a must.
KNB Communications is 100% remote. You can work from anywhere as long as you have dependable internet and are willing to keep central or east coast hours.
Duties + experience
As the Account Director you will:
Healthcare SME
-
7+ years of experience working with or in health technology, healthcare and/or life sciences
-
Understands the concepts, terminology and landscape of the ecosystem and can navigate strategic and tactical challenges
-
Able to recommend best practices for communications, marketing and PR for health technology and life sciences clients
-
Can share case studies and examples of past healthcare media placements, projects and programs
-
Previous experience presenting to industry executives and sharing program deliverables
Client services
-
Assess and understand clients’ needs and orchestrate appropriately
-
Maintain strong client relationships
-
Manage the delivery of PR campaigns including daily media relations (national, trade, local, online media, etc.)
-
Possess tactical and strategic communications skills - written, verbal and interpersonal
-
Conduct research, create collateral and/or write content for key healthcare communications including: campaign strategy, timelines, launch plans, activity reports, competitive analysis, Q&A, budgets, client and media communications

Lead proactive media relations efforts to achieve quality, high-impact placements on a regular basis.

Pitch, network and work closely with the media and bloggers to optimize clients’ exposure

Identify and work with media; demonstrate network of traditional and online media contacts and maintain agency media database

Anticipate client questions and prepare alternative approaches

Understand client objectives, project goals, scope and budget
Writing + content development

Develop high-quality written material including, press releases, pitches, byline articles, case studies and marketing collateral

Clearly articulate weekly agendas, recap reports, clips and monthly reports

Write and submit speaking and awards programs for clients
Team management

Cultivate strong relationships with media, industry leaders, organizations, clients, freelancers, KNB vendors and other stakeholders

Social media

Strong ability to leverage social media for business objectives

Amplify key messages and news via social channels

Recognition to recommend strategic social media strategies, with the right platforms, at the right time with the right content

Assist with new business research, proposal writing and presentations

Experience with tools such as Muck Rack, Cision, Meltwater, HubSpot, Harvest, Sprout Social, Google Ads, LinkedIn

Demonstrate passion and excitement for healthcare and the team

Contribute to company business development and marketing activities such as blogging, social media and creative programs

Willingness to offer new ideas and initiatives to the team
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree
-
7+ years of PR / marketing / communications experience
