For this week’s #WeAreKNB series, Aisling Gigandet and I interviewed one another. Aisling supports the KNB team as our Marketing and Communications Intern this fall. We are grateful for her hard work. Here are a few questions we asked her below:

  1. What drew you to healthcare marketing?
My family has always been invested in health tech and innovation-- both of my sisters work in the healthcare and wellness industry. However, I never considered my skills as a strength for healthcare until I discovered KNB Communications! In the short time I have been with KNB, I’ve discovered so much about applying my skills to impact the future of the healthcare industry. Everyone here is extremely talented and could apply their strengths to any industry, but all choose to change lives by working in healthcare.
  2. What do you like most about your internship with KNB Communications so far?
I love how much I am learning, and how welcoming everyone has been. The KNB team demonstrates every day what a healthy, collaborative work environment looks like. In my role, I’ve been able to observe and implement new blog-writing techniques, apply social media strategy, respond to reporter inquiries, complete several relevant certifications, and even attend industry conferences. I have been really impressed with the balance of both freedom and guidance the IDEAS internship program has offered me so far.
  3. What is your dream job?
Following the completion of a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in marketing in May 2022, I’m looking forward to starting my career in an agency setting. After working with KNB, given the chance I would ideally continue in healthcare marketing and PR.
  4. What excites you most about entering the workforce?
I can’t wait to continue my life-long learning, help build relationships with clients, and ultimately become part of a team. I’m also excited to be settled in one place, where I can get involved with long-term mentorship programs for young students-- that has been a future goal of mine for the past few years.
  5. Who is your role model?
There’s a large number of people, both in my personal life and beyond, that I admire for various reasons. Outside of my family and closest friends, one of my role models is Audrey Hepburn. I appreciate that she made her life about more than her theatrical accomplishments by engaging in humanitarian work throughout her life! She is an exemplar of achieving greatness through balance and kindness.
