Table of contents

The healthcare world changes, evolves, and develops. It has many sectors and angles, which is why it fascinates and drives us every day. Similar to the industry we all know and love, our team here at KNB is anything but one-dimensional.

Our monthly segment called #WeAreKNB gives you a closer look into who we are and allows you to take a look at the faces behind the hard work of KNB Communications. A variety of different perspectives is an asset that we value, and we are excited to show you who we are and why we love what we do. We are individuals, we are a team, #WeAreKNB. Wanna keep up? Charlene Taylor supports the KNB team as our Marketing and Communications Intern this fall. We are grateful to have her on board this semester and decided to highlight her this month. Here are a few questions we asked her below:

  1. What has drawn you to the world of healthcare communications?

I have always been intrigued by communications as a field. There is so much versatility in promoting and developing a brand. I also took a Sociology of Health course during my sophomore year of college and just loved learning about access to medicine and chronic conditions v. acute illnesses. What better way to combine one of my career and academic interests.

  2. What do you like most about the culture at KNB Communications?

I enjoy the hands-on learning culture at KNB communications. There are many opportunities to learn about trends in health care, tech, and marketing. Furthermore, I love how accessible senior leaders are and their willingness to share insight on what they do day to day.

  3. What current health tech trends do you find most interesting?

I find the shift to telehealth to be the most interesting. Given the global pandemic going on around the world, a lot of healthcare facilities have opted to do virtual appointments, scheduling, and doctor visits. I think that the rapid shift from in person to virtual is amazing, but there are some consequences such as PHI.

  4. What is your favorite social media platform and why?

My favorite social media platform is Instagram. I love to see where everyone is at in the world, live videos, and reels. I think that it is a fun platform to digest content.

  5. What is a fun fact about you?

I have a twin sister, and I am 36 minutes younger than her.

  6. Name 3 celebrities you admire and why.

I admire Gabrielle Union. I grew up watching her in a lot of shows and I personally fell in love with her character in the show Being Mary Jane. I also admire Rihanna as a businesswoman. Despite her music career being short lived, she used her brand to create an inclusive line of women's wear and makeup line. Last but not least, I admire Beyonce’s ability to learn about different cultures and implement what she has learned in her music.
