#WeAreKNB Series: Larissa Andrade

Table of contents

The "We are KNB" series gives you a peek behind the curtain to understand what makes our band of healthcare communications experts tick. We ask them about their motivations and goals as well as some personal questions.

This month we would like to highlight one of our Fall interns, Larissa Andrade. Here are a few questions we asked her below:

What drew you to healthcare marketing?

Before choosing my major my freshman year of college, I knew I wanted to major in something that benefits others. Since choosing the major of public health and learning more about this field, I’ve felt even more of a calling to help those in need. With technology constantly advancing, healthcare marketing not only helps spread awareness of these advancements, but assists the average person in finding the right healthcare for them.

What excites you most about working at KNB?

From my first interview with KNB, I could tell they were passionate about what they do. I was already interested with the idea of healthcare marketing, but having the opportunity to hear what KNB does specifically fueled my interest even more. I’m excited to gain first hand experience of what healthcare marketing is all about while working alongside the driven KNB team.

Who inspires you most throughout your life?

I would say that my greatest inspiration would be my family. As a first generation child, hearing about the hardships my family faced to get to where we are today is truly motivating. Their sacrifices push me to be a better worker, student and overall better person. I want to show them that their hard work is not unnoticed, and that I feel compelled to give back to them the wonderful life that they have given to me.

Where do you hope to see yourself in the future?

Short term, I hope to see myself graduating from grad school with my Masters degree in Health Services Administration and officially stepping into the hospital workforce. Long term, I hope to see myself as a hospital administrator in the Northeast area. It would be not only an honor, but a privilege to manage the organizational side of health services to ensure that it keeps rolling smoothly for not only the patients, but the doctors and nurses as well.

What’s your favorite go-to show to binge?

I would say my favorite go-to show to binge would either be The Office or Gilmore Girls. It all really depends on the time of year. If it’s autumn, I'll definitely be restarting Gilmore Girls. But if it's any other time of the year, The Office is the way to go. These two shows have become comfort shows for me, and I may or may not have every line or joke memorized.
