Each semester, the team at KNB brings in new interns to learn about the healthcare and life sciences industries, as well as develop skills in the marketing, PR, and communications fields.
One of their first assignments is mock reporting: here are their interviews of each other:
Muse interviewing Kendalyn
Could you introduce yourself?
Hi, my name is Kendalyn McBride. I'm a senior media and entertainment major at Kennesaw State University. I'm involved with Delight Ministries, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., and the Society of Professional Journalists.
What inspired you to intern for KNB, and enter the field of healthcare marketing?
What inspired me to intern here was the staff. Everyone was incredibly kind during our conversations, and I really enjoyed speaking with them. The work they do is also very inspiring. After doing some research and exploring the website, I found the work to be very interesting, especially because I’ve never worked in biotech or the health industry before. It was something new and innovative, and I was drawn to that.

What do you hope to gain from your experience with KNB?
I'm really excited about all of the different programs that we're going to be learning and the certification opportunities that we have through them. So, I'm really excited to just be able to actually exercise what I've been learning in class.
Describe your perfect weekend.
My perfect weekend would be sleeping in, getting brunch, and just relaxing, watching movies and TV shows, and then ordering food. I would not want to cook at all.
What’s a small daily habit that helps you stay motivated or focused?
My small daily habit is always taking some time to read the Bible and pray, whether it’s in the morning or at night.
Kendalyn interviewing Muse
Could you introduce yourself?
Hi, I'm Muse, and I'm a junior at Northwestern University with a double major in data science and communication studies. I'm currently the digital media strategist in the Department of Communication Studies, where I help compost quarterly newsletters and manage the Instagram account. I post about upcoming events, faculty or student spotlight as well as some important academic announcements to build a closely connected community.
What inspired you to intern for KNB, and enter the field of healthcare marketing?
As an international student, I am not very familiar with the U.S. healthcare system, which makes me particularly interested in learning how it operates and how a healthcare marketing agency, like KNB, contributes to it. One of the aspects that draws me to KNB is its collaborative and supportive work environment, which I deeply admire.
In the past, I’ve worked in the marketing department of a company, and I am now eager to experience working in an agency setting, surrounded by seasoned marketing professionals. I’m also excited about the opportunity to learn how to use CRM platforms to create impactful campaigns and develop data-driven strategies.

What is a movie that you think everyone should watch and why?
My movie choice would be Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. It is a classic Chinese martial arts film. I highly recommend it because of its stunning visual effects. The martial arts scenes are particularly captivating, with the bamboo forest sequence being the most iconic. Despite its universal theme about love and responsibility, the film also reflects important elements of Chinese culture, such as Taoism and Buddhism.
What do you miss most about your hometown?
Definitely the food. During my winter break, I visited a small snack shop in Jiaxing I used to go to when I was little. Everything in the shop was exactly the same, which made me feel as if I had traveled back in time. It was a truly nostalgic and heartwarming experience.
